Before you start using the Data quality studio, set the Data quality studio parameters.


Standard procedure

1. Click Data quality management.
2. Click Data quality studio parameters.
3. Sub-task: Set general parameters.
  3.1 You can use a dynamic query on:
- An action rule of type Data query.
- A condition that is applied to a validation rule, duplicate check rule, or action rule.
If for a query, the Select only first record field is set to 'No', more than one record can be returned by the query.
You can indicate if this is acceptable or not. If not, indicate if a warning or an error message must be shown when you select a dynamic query on an action rule or condition.
  In the General section in the Select all records field, select an option.
  3.2 You can set the default value for the Warning/Error field of validation rules and duplicate check rules.
  In the General section in the Default Warning/Error field, select an option.
4. Sub-task: Set table group checks.
  4.1 In D365 FO, each table is classified in a table group. You can, for each table group, indicate if rules can be created for the group. The table group check is done on creation of a rule.
You can choose from these options:
- Accept: You can create rules for the table group.
- Warning: You can create rules for the table group. But, if you do so, a warning message is shown.
- Error: You cannot create rules for the table group. If you select a table from the table group, an error message is shown.
  Expand the Table group section.

  4.2 In the Setup field, select an option.
  4.3 In the Miscellaneous field, select an option.
  4.4 In the Master data field, select an option.
  4.5 In the Worksheet field, select an option.
  4.6 In the Transaction field, select an option.
  4.7 In the Framework field, select an option.
  4.8 In the Staging field, select an option.
5. Sub-task: Set number sequence checks.
  5.1 For an action rule of type Number sequence, a number sequence must be defined. You can indicate if already used number sequences can be used.
The number sequence check is done when you define the number sequence for an action rule.
  Expand the Number sequences section.
  5.2 Indicate if a number sequence that is used on a parameter form can be selected for action rules of type Number sequence.
You can choose from these options:
- Accept: For an action rule, you can select a number sequence that is used on a parameter form.
- Warning: For an action rule, you can select a number sequence that is used on a parameter form. But, if you do so, a warning message is shown.
- Error: For an action rule, you cannot select a number sequence that is used on a parameter form. If you do so, an error message is shown.
  In the Used on parameters field, select an option.
  5.3 Indicate if a number sequence that is used for a journal can be selected for action rules of type Number sequence.
You can choose from these options:
- Accept: For an action rule, you can select a number sequence that is used for a journal.
- Warning: For an action rule, you can select a number sequence that is used for a journal. But, if you do so, a warning message is shown.
- Error: For an action rule, you cannot select a number sequence that is used for a journal. If you do so, an error message is shown.
  In the Used on journals field, select an option.
  5.4 Indicate if a number sequence that is used on an active data quality policy version can be selected for action rules of type Number sequence.
You can choose from these options:
- Accept: For an action rule, you can select a number sequence that is used on an active data quality policy version.
- Warning: For an action rule, you can select a number sequence that is used on an active data quality policy version. But, if you do so, a warning message is shown.
- Error: For an action rule, you cannot select a number sequence that is used on an active data quality policy version. If you do so, an error message is shown.
  In the Used on data quality policy version field, select an option.
6. Sub-task: Set dynamic form options.
  6.1 Click the Dynamic form options tab.
  6.2 When you create a customer, by default, the financial dimensions are not shown on the Create customer form. You can choose to show the financial dimension fields on the Create customer form.
  Select Yes in the Create customer field.
7. Sub-task: Set quality assessment parameters.
  7.1 Click the Quality assessment tab.
  7.2 Select Yes in the Require reason when accepting deviation field.
8. Sub-task: Enable Data quality studio.
  8.1 Click the Enable Data quality studio tab.
  8.2 Click Turn on.
  8.3 Click OK.
9. Sub-task: Set execution settings.
  9.1 For each data quality policy, you can indicate when it is applied.
In the Data quality policy parameters, you define the default execution settings that are applied to new data quality policies.
  Click the Execution settings tab.
  9.2 To make sure that all available execution triggers are shown, refresh the execution triggers.
  Click Refresh triggers.
  9.3 You can apply a data quality policy:
- Only on entering or updating a record on a form. To do so, only select the Enable by default check box for the 'Form' execution trigger.
- Only on doing a quality assessment. To do so, only select the Enable by default check box for the 'Quality assessment' execution trigger.
- In both cases. To do so, select the Enable by default check box for both the 'Form' execution trigger and the 'Quality assessment' execution trigger.
  Clear or select the Enable by default check box as desired.
10. Close the page.
